"Requiem of Old Glory" Understanding the Layout

 This is a brief blog post to help potential readers in understanding the layout of my first novel, "Requiem of Old Glory". 

“Requiem of Old Glory” is mapped out differently than most books. It is separated by three parts and each part has different chapters. The overall circumstances/setting are the same in each Part, but each Part is also different in several ways. Each part occurs in a different city (US city), focuses on a different story, and each part has different characters. Those characters’ and their responses, reactions, and actions towards similar situations are what make the stories unique.

About the Book

"It was the beginning of the end of the United States. Baltimore, Las Vegas, and San Diego were three of the four cities that were attacked on June 5th, 2015. Each succumbed to chaos and terror like never before in the history of America. A viral weapon was unleashed to destroy the nation and its people. The outcome would permanently cripple the country and force people to survive on their own. They could only rely on each other and their will to survive.

Faced with uncertainty and overwhelming odds, survivors banded together in each of those cities. They chose unity, to face the impossibilities together. They chose life even though death and tragedy surrounded them. These are their stories of faith, hope, and hardcore determination. This is the first chronicle of those fateful days of destruction — a detailed history of the heroes and heroines."

This novel is a fictional survival horror novel published in Ebook format. It is available on all major platforms, but it is not available on paperback, hardcover, or audio. This is also the first book in a series and I am currently writing the second novel. 

Part 1: Operation Zebra

This story is set in San Diego, CA. The main characters of this story are Officer John Carter of the SDPD SWAT and Executive Officer Cooper of the US Navy. The story is about honor, self-sacrifice, and self-preservation. 

Part 2: Faith & Hope

This part is set in Las Vegas, NV. There are three main characters - Emily, Carl, and Capt. Hart. The story is about unity, faith, and friendship. 

Part 3: The Golden Locket

This story is located in Baltimore, MD. The main characters are Sarah and Becky Miller, Eddie Baskel, and Sgt. Robert Carr. The story is about family, evil, and justice.
